England Reveal New Home and Away Kits Made by Nike for World Cup 2014

Nike have officially revealed the new England home and away shirts for 2014; the shirts the team will play in during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The home kit is a classic all-white design, while the away kit is red, but with white shorts.

According to Nike:

The 1970 inspiration can be seen in the full kit. The new shorts are classic white with a satin white tape along each side to create the same distinctive shine as the shoulders of the shirt.

As for the away kit, 1966 is the inspiration: 

The new England away jersey features a bold red tonal pinstripe design subtly infused with a graphic interpretation of St. George’s cross on the front. The St. George’s cross, representing the English patron saint, is an optical illusion and cannot be seen up close, coming into focus only from a distance. 

Not everyone was convinced, however, with Bleacher Report columnist Stan Collymore noting a passing resemblance to the kits of days gone by:

Now that the shirts are out, all that remains to be seen is how the team will fare in them. Even the most optimistic predictions do not forecast a repeat of England's 1966 World Cup triumph—very few predict that the team will match their run to the quarter-finals in 1970.

They will, however, have group games against Italy, Uruguay and Costa Rica in them, to see if they can make the last 16.
