Juventus remain confident of keeping Arturo Vidal in Turin despite persistent interest from Manchester United.

Louis van Gaal’s men have been linked with a move for the Chilean international all summer, with reports of a £45m bid on the table earlier this month.

But a deal has yet to materialise and as the transfer window drags on, Juventus are confident Vidal will not be leaving the club this summer, having only penned a contract extension back in December.

‘All the requirements are there for Vidal not to leave before the end of the transfer market,’ Juve’s general director Giuseppe Marotta told Gazzetta dello Sport.

‘The contract extension he signed has made more solid the marriage between Juve and Vidal.

‘Vidal has always said he wanted to stay here and we are more than happy to keep him.’
