Chelsea must sell Fernando Torres before they can move for Mattia Destro, according to the Roma player’s agent.

Destro’s representative Renzo Contratto has revealed his client has had interest from Jose Mourinho this summer, but insists reports of a swap deal involving Torres are way off the mark.

‘It’s true that Chelsea are interested in Mattia. But the reports regarding a swap deal have no foundation, it’s all speculation,’ he said.

‘If Chelsea sell Torres, maybe it’s possible they make an offer for Mattia.

‘Otherwise no [a deal cannot happen].

‘Chelsea is one of the top clubs in the world so any player would like to play for them, but I think it’s a very difficult transfer.’

The Blues have already added both Diego Costa and Didier Drogba to their ranks this summer, while they have lost Romelu Lukaku, Demba Ba and Samuel Eto’o.

But reports suggest Mourinho may be keen to add a fourth striker before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
