Coming in the wake of the news that FIFA ethics judge Joachim Eckert is hoping to deliver a verdict in the ongoing World Cup bidding corruption case by November, Our Dear Leader has assured everything that all is well and that the good fight is continuing to be fought on our behalves.
Just take a few moments to fully get your head around this little beauty…
In unrelated news, this is also the same week that ethics investigators ordered 32 representatives of FIFA’s ExCo to return the Parmigiani watches given to them by the Brazilian football federation as part of a 2014 World Cup gift bag on the grounds that such palm-greasing is “inappropriate“.
Apparently, any gifts should be of “symbolic or trivial value”.
These gaudy things cost £16,000-a-pop – roughly the same as a FIFA presidency vote sets you back these days.
