Cesc Fabregas is on course to add further insult to injury for Arsenal fans by breaking Thierry Henry’s record for the most Premier League assists in a season.
The Gunners’ all-time top goalscorer registered 20 assists in the 2002/03 season, but Fabregas has already managed nine with more than two-thirds of the season left.
In fact, the Spaniard’s start to this season has been so creative that it’s only been bettered once – by himself.
In 2009/10, the midfielder had laid on ten goals for his Arsenal team-mates after just 11 games, but was only able to add three more after being restricted by injury.
The former-Barcelona man came closest to Henry’s tally in 2007/08 with 17 assists, but if he stays fit he will be confident of breaking the record with Chelsea this season.
