With domestic football everybody's focus after the international break, plenty of clubs put in top-class performances to pick up vital wins in a range of competitions and leagues this weekend.

We take our usual round-the-world look at every major tournament to select the best, most impressive and most important scorelines to bring you our weekly ranking of the sides that had the biggest impact and gave their fans a 90 minutes to remember.

Here is our selection, starting outside of Europe and taking in competitions as diverse as MLS, La Liga, Ligue 1 and the Turkish Super Lig.

10. Racing Club

We begin with a change in leadership in the Primera Division in Argentina, just two rounds of games before the end of the Apertura.

The top two clashed in Buenos Aires as Racing Club hosted leaders River Plate, with the home side winning 1-0 thanks to a Ramiro Funes Mori (pictured) own goal. River have now gone four games without a win, while Racing made it four consecutive victories and displaced River at the top.

Only Rosario Central (away) and Godoy Cruz (home) stand between Racing and a first Apertura title since 2001.

9. Chelsea

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was so pleased with his side's performance in the 2-0 win over West Brom at the weekend that he labelled them "amazing," per BBC Sport:

"I don't remember seeing football of that dimension many times at Stamford Bridge. In the first half we played amazingly well. For me, an amazing first half. We played really, really well."

His side were by far and away the better team, slicing through the Baggies defence at will in the opening stages, scoring twice and missing a handful of other opportunities. They really could have made a statement and been merciless with West Brom after the break, especially with the away side reduced to 10 men after less than 30 minutes.

Taking their foot off the gas meant the score ended up 2-0, but it was still a very good display.

8. Juventus

Juventus continued their crushing form in Serie A with a 3-0 win away at Lazio, who had been impressing this season up until the last couple of matches.

Carlos Tevez, the league's top scorer, hit another goal sandwiched between two strikes from Paul Pogba, who has this year emerged as every bit the dominant midfield force he threatened to be over the previous few seasons.

Juve are three points ahead of Roma at the top of the table and have only conceded four goals in their 12 league outings.

7. Crystal Palace

Premier League relegation battlers Crystal Palace gave a masterclass in counter-attacking football against Liverpool on Sunday, taking a 3-1 win after falling behind in the second minute of the game.

The Selhurst Park club took advantage of spaces down the flanks to allow their wingers to run riot against the out-of-form Reds, being far more clinical than their opponents and taking a first win in six as a result.

Palace move up to 15th, giving themselves a two-point buffer to the bottom three.

6. New England

Stateside now, to the competition closest to finding out its eventual champion: The MLS Cup Eastern Conference final first leg between New York RB and New England ended in a surprise win for the away side, who won just six games on the road during the regular season.

Jermaine Jones was the hero with the late winning goal, scoring with four minutes left on the clock to secure a victory that came against the run of chances and possession, but one that was no less deserved all the same.

The second leg takes place in New England on November 29.

5. Trabzonspor

Over to the Turkey now, where Trabzonspor continued their good start to the season with a huge result—a 3-0 destruction of Galatasaray away from home.

Algerian utility man Carl Medjani scored twice in the second half to give his side a commanding lead before Yusuf Erdogan added a late third to knock Galatasaray off joint-top spot and move Trabzonspor up to fifth.

They have lost just once in their 10 games this season and look a good bet to challenge for European spots if they can turn some draws into victories.

4. Bayer Leverkusen

Some big games in the Bundesliga caught the eye this weekend, and we'll start with a big victory for Bayer Leverkusen, who overcame top-four rivals Hannover, 3-1, away from home.

All B04's big attacking names got themselves in on the act: Stefan Kiessling, Son Heung-min and Karim Bellarabi all scored in the second half to make it just one defeat in 12 in all competitions for Leverkusen.

They now embark on a difficult run of games: Monaco, Cologne, Bayern Munich, Benfica and Borussia Monchengladbach. The win over Hannover gives them a fine platform to build upon heading into that period.

3. Bayern Munich

Staying in Germany, leaders Bayern Munich put in another assured, professional and ultimately clinical performance to record a 4-0 win over Hoffenheim, who were in the top six prior to the weekend.

Mario Gotze hit a great strike before Robert Lewandowski and Arjen Robben got on the scoresheet, with Sebastian Rode driving forward for the fourth late on. Adam Szalai's late red card didn't skew the fact Bayern were far superior against domestic opposition once more.

It's now 12 games and no defeats for Pep Guardiola's side in the Bundesliga, with this latest clean sheet meaning they now boast Europe's best defence too—with just three conceded so far.

2. Marseille

To Ligue 1 now, a league in which PSG's Friday night win put pressure on Marseille to put in a performance against fourth-place Bordeaux at the weekend—and they responded in brilliant fashion.

Despite falling behind after half-time, Marseille showed plenty of the spirit and ability that has been on display this season to roar back and take the lead five minutes from time, before sealing the game late on for a 3-1 win to return to the top of the table.

Pierre-Andre Gignac hit his 11th goal of the season and Michy Batshuayi added the final strike.

1. Barcelona

Top of the charts this weekend is Barcelona, who defeated impressive top-four La Liga outfit Sevilla, 5-1, at Camp Nou.

A fairly close first half and an equaliser straight after the break for the Andalusian side didn't hint at what was to come, as Barcelona stepped things up and showed all their best final-third creativity and scoring ability during the final 40 minutes of the game.

Lionel Messi scored a hat-trick and broke the league's scoring record in the process, Neymar scored his 11th goal of the season and Ivan Rakitic notched one against his old club as Barcelona simply blew Sevilla away.

They were untouchable as soon as they conceded, and this was a performance worthy of a top-end-of-the-table clash by the side who sit second in La Liga behind Real Madrid.
