Arsenal are reportedly closing in on the signing of Boca Juniors striker Jonathan Calleri after making him a top target.
Calleri, who has been dubbed the new Gonzalo Higuain, has been strongly linked with Arsenal in recent weeks, with Gunners scouts in regular attendance at his matches.
And while Liverpool are also keen on him, reports in Spain say Arsenal look set to bag the 21-year-old, with an official offer set to go in shortly.
Arsenal apparently expect the transfer to go through before the close of the January transfer window, and despite suggestions he could be loaned out, Calleri would go straight into the first-team setup.
