Manuel Neuer is clearly not letting his failure to beat Cristiano Ronaldo to the 2014 Ballon d’Or award get him down after the German star resumed his sweeper-keeper antics during a Bayern Munich friendly – and JUST got away with it.

The Bayern shot-stopper was seen running down the pitch to clear an incoming ball during his club’s friendly against Al Hilal this weekend before narrowly managing to clear the danger.

Neuer pulled out a sliding tackle to initially kick the ball away, but when it fell to an opposition player, the goalkeeper pressurised the attacker and managed to poke it clear.

However, the ball then fell to another Al Hilal player who, fortunately for Neuer, drove his long-range shot wide of the empty goal.

It may have been close, but considering Neuer’s history of making clearances in a variety of places around the pitch, we never really doubted the Bayern star…
