People always list their greatest England players of all time and the majority of people mention the name of Paul Gascoigne. Without a doubt he is a legend of our game and has been described by the National Football Museum as "the most naturally gifted English midfielder of his generation." He made his name at Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur with that FA Cup Semi-Final goal against Arsenal in 1991 being arguably the biggest moment of his club career. On the international stage is where he shone brightest though. His goal against Scotland in Euro 1996 has gone down in English football folklore. Since he retired from football in 2004, it has been well documented that Gazza has had mental and emotional problems which have involved alcoholism. And now after a number of attempts he has had at trying to live without alcohol, Gazza looks like he is on the mend as he is appearing as part of the panel for BT Sport€™s Fletch and Sav show ahead of Spurs v West Ham this Sunday. There have been highs on the football field for Gazza, but this article takes a look at some of the moments on and off the pitch which the midfielder will want us to forget.
