Harry Kane admits it would be a "dream" to be called up to the England squad but is concentrating on firing Tottenham up the table first.
Kane scored both goals as Tottenham beat QPR 2-1 at Loftus Road to take his tally to the season to 26.
Roy Hodgson was watching on at Loftus Road but revealed in the week that Kane was not guaranteed a spot in his next England squad, despite his fine goalscoring form.
The England manager will name his squad for the next round of international matches within the next few weeks with the team set to face Lithuania on March 27, followed by a friendly against Italy in Turin four days later.
Hodgson said he was pleased with the forwards he called up in the autumn internationals and knows that he would have to drop one of these players to make space for Kane.
Saido Berahino, Rickie Lambert, Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck were the four strikers Hodgson selected in November, although Daniel Sturridge has since returned to fitness.
Kane admits he has fierce competition but would “love” the opportunity if it came about.
“I’ve just got to keep doing what I’m doing,” he said.
“There are still a few games before the international break and I want to do the best I can for Tottenham. That’s what I’m looking to do. Get some more wins between now and then and we’ll see what happens.
"Any English player would love to play for England – it would be a dream – but there are a lot of great players in England. I just have to keep concentrating and do the best I can for Spurs.”
