AG wants two years for Bartomeu

The Attorney General has requested Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu serve more than two years for alleged wrongdoing in the signing of Neymar.

Marca claims the state has echoed the request of the public prosecutor in asking that Bartomeu serve two years and three months should he be found guilty of a tax offence.

It was originally requested that former President Sandro Rosell serve seven years and two months for his role in the Neymar case, but that has been reduced to six years and nine months as a charge of corporate crime is out of its jurisdiction.

Barca also face an €11.4m bill from the Hacienda, the tax authority, for three counts of financial irregularity in 2011, 2013 and 2014, with fines totalling €22m for Barca, €25.1m for Rosell and €3.8m for Bartomeu, AS note, citing a report from Efe.
