Miralem Pjanic said Roma “need to wake up and not put up with certain attitudes” after losing to Inter.

The Giallorossi were beaten 2-1 at San Siro and now even third place could be at risk.

“We can’t seem to win any more,” the midfielder told Sport Mediaset.

“In the second half we did better, but then lost with that second goal. It’s difficult to accept and live through this situation.

“We must try to change tack, as there are six games left and we need to get as many points as possible. We had come here to get three points and left empty-handed. That’s tough to swallow.

“Is it a psychological problem? That too. We have to change our attitude during the week as well as during the games. We must have the desire to take Roma back to the top.

“This squad needs to have real fire to get results, the way we did last season and the start of this campaign.

“Obviously when things go like this, I do not want to put up with certain attitudes. We have to change over the next six rounds. I know we keep saying that, but enough is enough.

“There are some things we need to change. As I said before, it’s in the attitudes. If we want to get back on top, we cannot accept certain things. We must wake up and give much more to win these games.”

Pjanic seemed particularly critical of those on the fringes of the starting XI.

“It’s not as if there are just 11 of us. We are a squad and everyone must give more. Last season those who came off the bench used to change the game.

“Now we have to do everything to win the next match against Sassuolo and then beat Genoa at home.”

If Napoli beat Sampdoria this evening, they will close to within two points of Roma’s third place.

“It’s all very tight. We’ll do all we can to get as many points as possible. The three points against Sassuolo on Wednesday now become absolutely essential.”
