Manchester United’s move for Zlatan Ibrahimovic has hit a snag as the player wants to feature at this year’s Olympics, according to reports.
The 34-year-old is keen to be chosen as one of Sweden’s three over-age squad members at the tournament, and under-21s coach Hakan Ericson is also desperate to have him – according to the Daily Mirror.
However, the tournament, which runs from August 4-20, would rule the striker out of United’s pre-season preparations, as well as the first couple of Premier League fixtures.
With Jose Mourinho keen to start the season quickly, this has complicated the forward’s move to Old Trafford but not ruled it out.
