Manchester United’s season finished three weeks ago but much has changed at Old Trafford in the last month.

The Red Devils finished the season with a dramatic FA Cup final win over Crystal Palace but Louis van Gaal was sacked less than 48 hours later.

The Dutchman’s departure gave Jose Mourinho the chance to land his dream job and he will take his first day of pre-season training on July 7th when those not competing at Euro 2016 report back to Carrington.

Van Gaal’s departure was likely music to the ears of United midfielder Ander Herrera, who was often the victim of the Dutchman’s pragmatic, risk-free tactics.

The Spaniard is a huge favourite with United fans and he’ll be hoping to resurrect his career under Mourinho next term.

No better way to impress, then, by returning to pre-season training early – which is exactly what Herrera did when he visited former side Real Zaragoza earlier this week.

The 26-year-old uploaded a snap to Instagram to confirm that he was back at work – so hopefully the Special One’s following him having recently joined the social networking site…
