A large section of Arsenal fans grew intensely frustrated with Mario Gomez for failing to convert Mesut Ozil’s passes during Germany’s quarter-final with Italy at Euro 2016.

The Gunners midfielder opened the scoring at the Stade de Bordeaux after latching onto Gomez’s cross just past the hour mark.

However, many Gooners were unforgiving when the Besiktas striker had his effort saved by Gianluigi Buffon in the 68th minute to double the lead for Joachim Low’s side.

Just ten minutes after the chance, Italy equalised when Leonardo Bonucci converted from the penalty spot after Jerome Boateng handled inside the area.

Ozil’s Arsenal team-mate Aaron Ramsey, who is suspended for Wales’ semi-final clash with Portugal, leads the assists chart with Eden Hazard on four for the tournament.
