Paul Pogba has reportedly informed friends and team-mates of his desire to return to Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

It’s understood Jose Mourinho has set a deadline of August 7 for United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward to get a deal over the line for Pogba – and the Red Devils would have to break the world transfer record to land the 23-year-old.

And, according to L’Equipe, the midfielder is so keen on returning to Old Trafford that he’s told close acquaintances he wants the £100million move this summer.

Pogba has scored 34 goals in 178 appearances for Juventus since leaving United back in 2012 and become one of the most sought after players in European football, with Real Madrid also very interested in signing him.

If the club fail in their pursuit of Pogba, it’s believed Paris Saint-Germain star Blaise Matuidi will be targeted as an alternative to his compatriot.

Reports suggest Matuidi traveled to England prior to France’s Euro 2016 semi-final versus Germany to discuss his future with his agent Mino Raiola.
