Aston Villa supporters remembered their former striker Dalian Atkinson during Tuesday night's game against Huddersfield.
The 48-year-old died in the early hours of Monday after police used a Taser gun on him having been called to a disturbance in Telford.
And Villa fans broke into a minute's applause in the 10th minute of the Sky Bet Championship game in recognition of the No 10 shirt Atkinson wore during his time at the club.
Atkinson scored 38 goals in four years at Villa Park in the early 1990s, including a memorable solo goal at Wimbledon which won the 1992/93 goal of the season award.
A supporter at Selhurst Park that day ran from the stands to hold an umbrella over Atkinson's head, and several designated fans raised umbrellas in the corner of the pitch on Tuesday to commemorate the incident.
Atkinson's death is the subject of an ongoing inquiry by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
