Watford have completed the signing of midfielder Roberto Pereyra from Juventus in a deal worth an initial £10.4m, potentially rising to £13m.
The 25-year-old attacking midfielder represented Udinese for three seasons from 2011 before joining Juve. He made 52 appearances in 2014-15 and featured in the Champions League final, but found his chances limited last season.
Pereyra, who has 10 caps for Argentina and reached the 2015 Copa América final with the national team, becomes Watford’s latest new signing, with more incoming moves expected before the transfer window closes.
The Watford manager, Walter Mazzarri, said last week: “The club has given me the possibility to go ahead with two or three new players. They say it’s no problem if we need them, and I think we need them.”
Watford, who drew 1-1 at Southampton on Saturday, face Chelsea on Saturday.
