'your name.' Meets Fist of the North Star in Fan-Made Manga

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

Anime and manga fans are always eager to make mashups combining their favorites stories. Dōjin group Ojō no Yokushitsu (Daughter's Bathroom) recently unveiled the Unu no Na wa. crossover manga that combines Makoto Shinkai's your name. (Kimi no Na wa.) film and Buronson and Tetsuo Hara's Fist of the North Star manga. Twitter user @melondorobou tweeted pictures of the dōjinshi manga on Friday.

The Japanese word "unu" in the manga's title is a vulgar term meaning "you" or "blockhead." In the manga, Fist of the North Star's muscular machos transform into Mitsuha and Taki from Shinkai's film. Unsurprisingly, hijinks ensue.

The 28-page manga's story revolves around fate that cannot be avoided or changed. In modern times, two opposing tigers face a destiny that originated in a previous existence. When a star falls, they cross over space-time to meet. This meeting is no accident, and the two face off fist-to-fist.
