Manchester City put West Ham to the sword with a convincing 4-0 victory at the London Stadium on Wednesday night.

Pep Guardiola’s men flew out of the blocks against the Hammers with Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne, Leroy Sane and new-boy Gabriel Jesus causing the opposition’s defence problems from the first whistle.

De Bruyne broke the deadlock in the 17th minute with a precise finish to convert Jesus’ pinpoint pass and Silva doubled the visitors’ advantage just four minutes later.

Sergio Aguero’s face was a picture on the substitutes bench as Jesus made it three against Slaven Bilic’s team – his first for Manchester City – to finish off a perfect first-half for Guardiola’s side.

West Ham improved their play after the break but the home side were unable to create any clear-cut opportunities as Andy Carroll’s frustrations continued up front.

Yaya Toure put the icing on the cake for City from the penalty spot in the 67th minute after Sterling was brought down inside the area.
