Thibaut Courtois could not help but rub salt into the wounds of Arsenal fans after Chelsea cruised to victory in the London derby at Stamford Bridge.
The Premier League leaders showed the form of champions to clinch a routine 3-1 win thanks to goals from Marcos Alonso, Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas.
Antonio Conte’s side moved, for the time being at least, 12 points clear in the title race while Arsenal fell to their second defeat in a week.
After the win goalkeeper Courtois took to Instagram to express his elation at the result, and to also remind Arsenal fans of Chelsea’s dominance in the top-flight.
Blues boss Conte insisted his side showed that they are deserved frontrunners in the Premier League after beating the Gunners.
‘It was an important game. I consider Arsenal one of the six teams that can fight for the title until the end of the season,’ the Italian said.
