Former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Emmanuel Petit claims Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann is ‘definitely’ joining Manchester United this summer.

The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a move for the Frenchman and look certain to move for a striker once, as is expected, Wayne Rooney leaves the club.

Griezmann, 25, admitted earlier this month that he was having doubts over a move to England but he’s believed to be a boyhood Manchester United fan and would find turning the Red Devils down difficult.

Both of Petit’s former clubs in the Premier League have also been linked with a move for the ex-Real Sociedad man but the 46-year-old claimed today that Griezmann is on his way to Old Trafford.

‘I think he will come to Manchester United – definitely,’ said Petit.

‘He has a great partnership with Paul Pogba for the national team and they are very good friends as well.

‘He will bring goals, assists but a winning mentality as well.

‘Griezmann for the latest four years has improved his level every year. He has a big ambition personally but also for who he is playing for. He will be a big bargain for Manchester United.’
