Tyrone Mings insists he did not deliberately stamp on Zlatan Ibrahimovic during Bournemouth’s hard-fought draw against Manchester United.

Jamie Carragher said Mings ‘deserved a smack’ after he caught Ibrahimovic with his foot after jumping over the Swedish striker.

But Mings dismissed the claim that he intentionally stamped on Ibrahimovic, insisting he is not that kind of player.

‘Not at all, I would never do that, that’s not in my game. Hard and fair is how I like to tackle but that’s not my game,’ Mings told Sky Sports.

‘I knew I was in for a battle and that’s what we had all day. There was maybe an elbow, I felt it. What happened after that I didn’t see.

‘I had that feeling for the whole game, it was a physical test and a good battle.’
