Mesut Ozil has provided Arsenal fans with an update on Twitter after he picked up a back injury while on duty with Germany.
The Gunners playmaker sat out of training on Friday, following Germany’s 1-0 defeat of England, but he’s returned ahead of the side’s World Cup qualifier with Azerbaijan on Sunday.
Ozil missed out on Arsenal’s trip to West Brom at the weekend and Arsene Wenger confirmed that the 28-year-old had sustained a hamstring injury.
‘Back in training and just one more day until Azerbaijan v Germany,’ Ozil tweeted following his latest setback.
The ex-Real Madrid superstar has suffered a number of injuries and illnesses this season amid speculation he could leave the Emirates in the summer.
Some Gooners are convinced Ozil will be departing from north London at the end of the season after he was not named in Wenger’s squad for the match at the Hawthorns.
Both Ozil and Alexis Sanchez are yet to agree to new deals at Arsenal.
