Manchester United are monitoring Espanyol duo Aaron Martin and David Lopez, according to reports in Spain.

United’s scout in La Liga, Toni Lima, was present for Espanyol’s 1-0 victory over Alaves last Saturday and according to Mundo Deportivo, Martin and Lopez are the two players on Jose Mourinho’s radar.

Martin only made his La Liga debut in October but the 19-year-old has quickly become the team’s first-choice pick at left-back.

Real Madrid and Manchester City have also been linked with Martin, who has a €30million (£25.5m) release clause until June 2018.

Lima was also running the rule over Espanyol centre-back Lopez.

The 27-year-old was re-signed by the Spanish club from Napoli last summer and is also capable of playing in central midfield.

Lopez has a €40m (£34m) release clause in his current deal with Espanyol.
