Ian Wright has admitted he would sign for Tottenham Hotspur ahead of Arsenal if he was choosing a club in his prime at this moment in time.

The legendary Gunners striker was impressed with the work of Mauricio Pochettino’s side during the north London derby and believes they’re on a road to real success under the Argentine boss.

Unfortunately for Wright, he’s not so sure the same can be said of Arsenal, who are languishing in sixth place under Arsene Wenger this season.

And Wright admitted he would sign for Spurs ahead of Arsenal if he was in his prime.

When Mark Chapman asked who he would sign for if the same deal was on the table from both clubs and he was entering his prime, he replied: ‘That’s a really tough question.

‘It’s an unfair question. It’s loaded. It’s unfair on live television with my club on the floor at Tottenham flying.

‘To be honest, totally honest, of course right now you’re going to sign for Spurs.

‘The problem Arsenal have is the longer they don’t sort what’s going on upstairs, we are no longer going to be able to attract that player because he is going to go to another club.’
