Marcus Rashford silenced Celta Vigo in every sense on Thursday night.

The teenager was the best player on the pitch in Manchester United’s 1-0 win in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final.

His energetic running caused the Spanish side problems throughout and he scored the only goal of the night with a brilliantly taken free-kick.

Rashford’s display however was brought to an end in the 80th minute when he was replaced by Anthony Martial.

Apparently struggling with an injury he took his time leaving the field – much to the annoyance of Celta Vigo.

Former Man City striker John Guidetti, who spent seven years on the books at the Etihad, was among those who tried to speed things along. But Rashford wasn’t having it.

The teenager twice put his finger to his lips in a ‘ssshhh’ gesture and then just carried on at his own pace.

Guidetti will certainly be regretting his pre-match comments after that.

‘I’m going to make sure Manchester is blue,’ he warned pre-match.
