Chelsea are Premier League champions for the fifth time after a late goal from substitute Michy Batshuayi sealed a 1-0 win over West Brom at the Hawthorns.
The Blues were far from at their best for much of the game as they struggled to break down a resilient Baggies side determined to spoil their party.
Antonio Conte piled on attacking players for the final fifteen minutes and his plan paid off as Batshuayi capped a rare appearance with a crucial goal in the 82nd minute.
Pedro was the liveliest player in a disappointing first half for Chelsea, linking well with Cesc Fabregas but putting one shot over the bar and then failing to make a clean enough contact from a well-worked set piece with his fellow Spaniard.
David Luiz was then called into action just before half time as he made a last-ditch block to prevent Chris Brunt from giving the home side the lead.
Chelsea continued to dominate possession in the second period, with Ben Foster having to get down well to stop a low shot to his right from Victor Moses marauding forward from wing-back.
Fabregas had a long-range effort curl just wide moments later, before Conte decided to throw the kitchen sink at West Brom in a bid to ensure Chelsea didn’t miss this chance to finish the title race.
Batshuayi and Willian replaced Pedro and Eden Hazard, and it didn’t take long for the Italian’s changes to make an impact.
Gary Cahill’s scuffed shot found its way to Cesar Azpilicueta as both centre-backs joined the attack, with the latter’s cross along the six yard box finding Batshuayi unmarked, and his shot went in off Foster but found the back of the net.
There were wild celebrations from Conte on the Chelsea bench as the former Juventus boss celebrated a first league title in just his first season in England.
