Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas has admitted Alexandre Lacazette is free to leave the club this summer if a buyer matches the club’s valuation of the striker.

Arsenal had a bid of around £28million rejected for the France international last summer but remain heavily interested in the forward.

Lacazette’s stock has risen again this season and the Lyon academy product has now scored 127 goals in 274 appearances for the Ligue 1 giants.

Arsene Wenger is set to stay on at the Emirates and will be given significant funds to invest in his side.

Lacazette remains a priority for the Gunnes and Aulas admits he can leave for the right fee.

‘Alex had a good option with a club that is in his heart [last summer],’ said Aulas

‘If the club of his heart is able to match our demands – as Barcelona did last season for Sam Umtiti – then things will go well. Otherwise, it will depend on our other business.

‘But if any players feel that this club is not big enough for them, we will look for others who are just as strong but have the right mentality as well’
