Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has insisted Antoine Griezmann will be staying at the club despite the attacker hinting at a summer exit.

Griezmann sparked intense speculation he is pushing for a switch to Manchester United this week when he rated his chances of joining the Red Devils as ‘six out of ten’.

The France international insists he wants to win titles and suggested his time at Atletico may have reached a natural end.

But Cerezo revealed no club has made an approach for Griezmann and said he believes no one will want to pay his £85 million release clause.

‘There has been no approach from Manchester United and nobody has offered to pay the clause and I don’t think anyone will,’ he told Radio RMC.

‘The situation is that Antoine Griezmann is an Atletico Madrid player and he has a contract until 2021.

‘Never has he told me that he wants to leave.’

United’s hopes of signing Griezmann hinges on whether they can secure Champions League football next season.

The Red Devils play Ajax in the Europa League final and will secure a spot in the Champions League with a win.

Griezmann is hot property in Europe as one of the best attackers in the game at the moment.

The 26-year-old is believed to be keen on a move to Old Trafford so he can link up with close friend and international team-mate, Paul Pogba.

Griezmann finished the season on 26 goals and 12 assists in all competitions.
