Lifting the Europa League trophy was a two-handed job for the majority of Manchester United’s players – but not Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
A cruciate ligament injury meant that the 35-year-old was forced to watch Wednesday’s Europa League final from the bench as United ran out 2-0 winners over Ajax.
Ibrahimovic is still on crutches as he continues his recovery from knee surgery, but despite being on one leg, the striker was still able to lift the trophy – all 15 kilograms of it – in the air with one hand.
The Europa League trophy is the heaviest one UEFA has ever produced, while even its narrowest point makes it difficult to hoist with one arm.
It’s no wonder Ibrahimovic broke United’s power records during his medical with the club last July.
For the rest of Ibrahimovic’s team-mates, they kept two hands firmly on the trophy during the celebrations…
