Juan Mata has endorsed Manchester United’s move for Antoine Griezmann and believes the Atletico Madrid forward is a ‘great player’.

United have reached next season’s Champions League after winning the Europa League on Wednesday evening, and the club are now expected to push on with their deal to sign the France international, who has a £86 million release clause in his contract.

Earlier this week, Griezmann rated his chances of joining Old Trafford as a ‘six out of 10’, and Mata says he would welcome the 26-year-old this summer.

‘When I was at school a six out of 10 was considered OK. I would take that,’ the Spaniard told Cadena SER.
