Liverpool have kicked off their summer transfer dealings by completing the signing of FK Sarajevo teenager Dal Varesanovic.

The highly-rated 16-year-old midfielder was pictured posing alongside Reds icon Steven Gerrard as he signed on the dotted line with the Merseyside club.

It’s understood Barcelona and Dinamo Zagreb were also interested in landing Varesanovic but the Bosnian teenager has decided to commit his future to the Anfield outfit.

Liverpool were recently banned from signing academy players and received a £100,000 fine from the Premier League but are still permitted to bring in youngsters from sides around Europe.

Varesanovic only turned 16 earlier this month but has already represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at Under-17 team.

It’s believed Varesanovic’s entourage initially favoured a move to Dinamo Zagreb but eventually settled on a switch to England instead.

Reds fans will hope he’s just the first in a long line of players to walk through the doors at Anfield this summer.
