It's not ideal, but Michael Carrick won't mind if someone has spelled his name incorrectly in a game which is all about him.

Playing in his testimonial at Old Trafford, the midfielder was the man of the hour (or 90 minutes) as a Man United team from the 2008 Champions League winning side took on an all-star side.

That meant Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand were once again at the heart of the defence, with Edwin van der Sar in goal.

On the opposition, Clarence Seedorf was there along with John Terry, Jamie Carragher and Eric Abidal.

Anyway, maybe the spelling was a deliberate gaffe in order to make the day even more memorable.
