Arsenal have opened talks with Alexandre Lacazette as the Gunners look to beat Liverpool and Manchester United to the Lyon star.

Lacazette enjoyed another fantastic season in France, scoring 36 goals in 44 games in all competitions to enhance his reputation as one of the most prolific forwards in Europe.

The 26-year-old is being heavily linked with a move to the Premier League this summer, with Arsenal and Manchester United both interested in a deal.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool were reportedly preparing to hold talks with Lacazette’s agents this week but BeIN Sports say Arsenal are already in contact with Lyon.

Lacazette, who is valued at around £52million, may emerge as Arsene Wenger’s priority target with Arsenal set to miss out on Monaco sensation Kylian Mbappe.

The north London outfit reportedly saw a £87m offer for the teenage striker rejected last week, and now Real Madrid intend to bring him to the Bernabeu.

Real have already had two bids knocked back by Monaco but RMC say the club are now preparing to pay a world-record €135million for the France international.
