Manchester United will complete the £35 million signing of Benfica centre-back Victor Lindelof on Wednesday, according to reports.

The Sun claims that the 22-year-old will travel to Manchester after Sweden’s friendly against Norway on Tuesday night where he will complete the move to Jose Mourinho’s side.

Lindelof will undergo a medical on Wednesday before signing a five-year contract with United.

The report also claims that the Sweden international has told friends he is exciting about the prospect of his move to Old Trafford.

A source close to the transfer told The Sun: ‘It’s a done deal. There are some very minor things to wrap up and of course the medical.

‘He hasn’t wanted to allow the move to distract him from Sweden duty but he will be flying straight to Manchester after the game in Oslo on Tuesday and then undergoing his medical.’

United had targeted Lindelof in the January window but missed out on the Benfica defender, who then went on to sign a new contract with the Portuguese club.

Mourinho’s side are set for a busy week in terms of transfers as the club are also expected to secure the signing of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.

Reports in Spain claim that the 24-year-old has also agreed a five-year contract, while will United will pay €73 million (£64.1m) for the striker.
