Bayern Munich are apparently planning to release a new logo this summer – but you could be forgiven for failing to spot it.

Graphic designer Daniel Nyari, who has links with the club, tweeted about the changes that are very, very subtle indeed, to the point where one has to wonder if it’s really worth it.

Supposedly keen to make their brand more distinctive, Bayern have changed the red and blue in their club crest to an ever-so-slightly darker shade, whilst also modifying one or two of the letters.

Bayern are not the only club to change crest this summer, with Juventus also opting for a slightly controversial modern design to replace their iconic old one.

The German champions, however, have not been quite as bold, and have only tweaked their current badge slightly.

No one from Bayern has confirmed the change yet, but Nyari has tweeted pictures of the new badge along with his explanation for the change.
