Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly ready to pay the £87million release clause to sign Atletico Madrid goalkeeper and Manchester United transfer target Jan Oblak.

The Ligue 1 giants are looking for a big-name signing in goal this summer as they could do with upgrading current number one Kevin Trapp, and Oblak seems to be their top target.

The Slovenia international has been linked several times with a move to Old Trafford this summer, with United also facing doubts over the future of their number one David de Gea.

Still, PSG are now said to be stepping up their interest and could beat the Red Devils to Oblak’s signature with an offer that would break the world transfer record for a goalkeeper.

According to Goal, the French side are ready to match the release clause in Oblak’s Atletico contracy and sign him for a staggering £87million.

This would be more than double the current world record for that position, which stands at the estimated £34million Manchester City paid Benfica for Ederson earlier this summer.

Oblak’s fine form in La Liga suggests he could be worth the gamble, but it could be a worry for United if they do end up losing De Gea to Real Madrid.

The Spain international could be a priority for Los Blancos amid talks over Alvaro Morata’s likely switch to United this summer.
