Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been left deeply frustrated by Arsenal’s lack of action on a new contract - and that could see him leave this summer.

Oxlade-Chamberlain , 23, has been keen to resolve his future and was expecting Arsenal to begin formal talks but they have yet to offer him a new deal.

That has thrown his future into major doubt with Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City among the clubs watching developments.

Liverpool are long-term admirers while Chelsea and City are also keen and are set to move in with Arsenal dragging their heels.

Oxlade-Chamberlain finished the season strongly, having played both in midfield and at wing-back and was one of Arsenal’s best players during the run-in which saw them lift the FA Cup.

England international Oxlade-Chamberlain was then told to expect quick progress and Arsenal were keen to get it sorted - but have failed to act and begin formal talks.

Arsenal’s lack of progress is a major shock as Oxlade-Chamberlain only has one year left and has made it clear how much he likes the club and the fans.

Arsenal have got a big issue with contracts this summer as a string of players have only got one year left and it will be a worry as to why they have not made headway.

They have failed to tie down big-name duo Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil to new contracts even though they only have one year left on their respective deals.

Sanchez has been offered £275,000-a-week and is a target for Bayern Munich and Manchester City while Ozil is demanding £350,000-a-week to sign.

Jack Wilshere, Kieran Gibbs and Wojciech Szczesny are among the others with only a year left and Arsenal seem to be making little progress.

Fears are growing they could lose Sanchez to either Bayern or City and now they could also end up seeing Oxlade-Chamberlain as well.

The prospect of losing one of English football’s most promising talents would be another blow for Arsenal.
