If Kylian Mbappe were to join Arsenal tomorrow it would be to work under Arsene Wenger, a close relative of the forward has claimed.

The 18-year-old burst onto the scene last season, scoring 26 goals in all competitions for Monaco, and his performances in the Champions League have put Europe’s elite clubs on red alert this summer.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has revealed his admiration for Mbappe on a number of occasions and it’s understood Real Madrid, Manchester United and Chelsea are also monitoring the youngster’s situation at the Stade Louis II.

On Arsenal’s interest, a family member told French outlet Le Parisien: ‘If Kylian signs for Arsenal tomorrow, it will be for him [Wenger].

‘He knows how to shape young players and especially the former strikers of the French team, Thierry Henry and Nicolas Anelka.

‘The Europa League is not an obstacle in itself.’

Arsenal are believed to have bid around £87million for Mbappe but Real Madrid remain in pole position to sign the France sensation.
