Paris Saint-Germain have offered €140 million (£123m) plus Hatem Ben Arfa for Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe, according to reports in Spain.

El Chiringuito claims that PSG have made the world-record bid to their Ligue 1 rivals in an attempt to beat Real Madrid to the signing of the in-demand 18-year-old.

Goal also reported on Thursday that PSG have submitted a €135 million (£119m) offer for Mbappe having stepped up their interest since Antero Henrique was appointed as their new sporting director earlier this month.

It’s claimed that Henrique has met with Mbappe’s father on two occasions in an attempt to persuade the striker to make the move to the French capital this summer.

But PSG appear to have a difficult task of trying to convince Mbappe as the forward reportedly favours a move to Real Madrid.

Last week, Mbappe met with Monaco to discuss his future and Marca claim that the Ligue 1 champions were told that Madrid are the only team he wants to join.

Arsenal are also in the running to sign Mbappe but there is a growing acceptance within the club that France international will decide to join Zinedine Zidane’s side.

Mbappe has made it clear that he will not leave Monaco if it meant that he was given less playing time and one option being put forward is to sign for Madrid this summer but stay with the Ligue 1 champions on loan for another season.
