Liverpool are ready to part with £50 million in order to sign Naby Keita from RB Leipzig this summer, according to reports.

Jurgen Klopp has already secured the signing of Mohamed Salah from Roma in a club-record deal which could reach up to £39m.

The Liverpool Echo claims that Liverpool are now prioritising a move for Keita after Klopp made him his top midfield target.

Earlier this week, RB Leipzig publicly insisted that the 22-year-old would not be sold this summer.

‘It would be irresponsible to let one of our top performers leave now,’ RB Leipzig’s chief executive Oliver Mintzlaff told Bild.

‘Emil and Naby are extremely talented and promising players. We are glad that we, as a club, are aiding their development and will now be able to prove ourselves in the Champions League.

But it’s reported that Liverpool are willing to rest the German club’s resolve by bidding as high as £50m for the Guinea international.

Kieta was a £12.75m signing from Red Bull Salzburg last summer and was one of the standout midfielders in the Bundesliga last season.

Liverpool are also on alert over the potential availability of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Reports on Friday claimed that Arsenal are open to selling the midfielder, who has just one year remaining on his current contract, but will command a £25m transfer fee.
