Manchester United star Anthony Martial has poured cold water on speculation linking him with a move to Arsenal by describing rumours about his future as ‘false’.

The Frenchman was linked with a stunning £40million move to the Emirates last weekend after a disappointing campaign under Jose Mourinho.

The 21-year-old scored nine goals in 45 appearances for United as they lifted the Europa League and EFL Cup but Mourinho is keen on signing the likes of Alvaro Morata and Ivan Perisic.

Martial, though, is not worried about his future at Old Trafford and hit out at reports on Twitter today by describing the speculation as ‘false’.

‘The rumours are false,’ wrote Martial.

United made Martial the most expensive teenager in world football when he joined from Monaco in a £36m deal in 2015 and the fee could rise to as high as £58m should Martial succeed at the club.

Arsene Wenger admitted after Martial’s move to Old Trafford that he had always admired the France international but was caught cold but how quickly United moved for the teenager on deadline day.
