Bayern Munich have pulled out of the race to sign Alexis Sanchez, reports say.

It means Arsenal have just one club interested in buying Sanchez this summer with the Chile international determined to force a transfer.

Sanchez could walk for nothing this time next year with the attacker now in the final year of his contract.

Manchester City are the only side willing to pay Sanchez’s wage demands and meet Arsenal’s £50million plus asking price.

Arsenal were prepared to sell Sanchez to Bayern at a knockdown price to avoid their star man joining a Premier League rival.

But Bayern have bulked at Sanchez’s £350,000 a week wage demands and have halted their interest in the attacker, according to the Mirror.

It leaves City with a clear run at Sanchez and the chance to make him the latest in a long line of Gunners to swap the Emirates for the Etihad.

Chelsea have gone silent in their pursuit of Sanchez and City look like they will have zero competition to sign Sanchez.

Arsenal do not want to let Sanchez leave for free next summer and have offered the goalscorer a £275,000-a-week deal to extend his stay at the club.

Bayern will not return to the negotiating table until Sanchez significantly lowers his wage demands.

Sanchez is currently on duty with Chile at the Confederations Cup in Russia and helped his side reach the final on Wednesday night.

Chile beat Portugal after a penalty shoot-out and will face either Germany or Mexico in the final.
