Jose Mourinho is ready to deliver another blow to his former club Chelsea by bringing Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez to Manchester United, according to reports.

Mourinho launched a late and dramatic move for Romelu Lukaku last week despite the Belgian appearing on the verge of a return to Stamford Bridge.

Lukaku, who scored 25 goals in the Premier League last season, is now set to become a United player after undergoing a medical.

But Mourinho still intends to bolster his squad at Old Trafford with three or four significant signings and the Daily Express say he is ready to pounce for Rodriguez.

The Colombian star endured a frustrating season at the Bernabeu and is said to be willing to move this summer in order to find more regular game-time.

Zinedine Zidane is also believed to be open to offloading the 25-year-old as he eyes a world-record move for Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe.

Premier League champions Chelsea have expressed interest in Rodriguez, who has scored 28 goals in 77 games since joining Real in 2014, but it is claimed he favours a move to United to work with Mourinho.
