Arsene Wenger is convinced Thomas Lemar wants to join Arsenal this summer and is ready to sanction a third bid for the Monaco star, reports say.

Lemar is one of a number of players at the French club attracting significant interest after a fantastic season in which Monaco won Ligue 1 while also reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Portugal international Bernardo Silva has already left for Manchester City and he could be followed by Kylian Mbappe, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Lemar.

The Gunners have already had two bids for Lemar rejected this summer but Wenger is adamant to secure the Frenchman’s services, even if it means paying over £45million.

The Daily Mirror say Wenger is convinced that Lemar will be heading to the Emirates, having already signed Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette.

Wenger is determined to bolster his midfield options in the coming weeks and, while Arsenal have made enquiries into the possibility of signing Riyad Mahrez from Leicester, Lemar remains the club’s top target.

Monaco are reluctant to lose another one of their star players but may be helpless to prevent Lemar’s departure if his representatives push for a move.

While Arsenal still hope to complete two or three significant signings this summer, several players are expected to leave the Emirates with Carl Jenkinson and Kieran Gibbs potentially moving on.
