Victor Lindelof was spotted on the plane to the United States with his new Manchester United team-mates after signing on the dotted line at Old Trafford last month.

The 22-year-old defender joined United from Benfica for a fee of around £31million but his squad number has not yet been confirmed by the Premier League giants.

However, Lindelof’s number may have been revealed as the squad as the Red Devils prepared to board their flight to Los Angeles ahead of the pre-season tour.

The Sweden international was seen carrying a backpack with the number two, as United’s players were getting ready to face LA Galaxy, Real Salt Lake, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

While this is, by no means, confirmation of Lindelof’s number, his new team-mates Ander Herrera and David De Gea were wearing their correct squad numbers.

Rafael was the last United player to wear the number two shirt, before the Brazilian completed a move to Lyon back in 2015.

Gary Neville and Paul Parker were also given the number before Rafael.
