Manchester United have completed the signing of Espanyol wonderkid Arnau Puigmal.

The Premier League giants are understood to have agreed a deal for Puigmal back in May and the 16-year-old midfielder has now been pictured with his new Red Devils shirt.

Puigmal, who has been described as ‘the star of Espanyol’s academy’, caught the eye of United chiefs while turning out for the Spanish club’s Cadete A side.

It’s believed Puigmal’s contract at United at Old Trafford includes a development plan to give the teenager the best possible chance of progressing into Jose Mourinho’s first-team at Old Trafford.

After signing on the dotted line with the Red Devils, he played and scored in a 6-0 win for United’s Under-18 side over SV Ebensee in Austria on Friday.

The youngster was with Espanyol’s academy since 2010 following a switch from from Sant Cugat, north-west of Barcelona.
