RB Leipzig midfielder Emil Forsberg insists he has no plans to leave the club this summer after being linked with a move to Manchester United.

Reports have claimed that Jose Mourinho is now targeting a move for the 25-year-old as an alternative to Ivan Perisic as United have failed to agree on a fee with Inter for the Croatia international.

Forsberg was one of RB Leipzig’s star performers last season as he helped the club finish second in the Bundesliga and ended up with 19 assists as well as eight goals.

But the German club are adamant that the Sweden international, along with Liverpool’s priority target Naby Keita, is not for sale.

And Forsberg says he is planning another season in the Bundesliga.

‘I only answered a question from a journalist and my answer was that Bayern Munich are one of the biggest clubs such as Real [Madrid], Barca and Manchester [United],’ Forsberg told Kicker.

Asked about the anger from some fans towards him, Forsberg replied: ‘Have I said anything bad about Leipzig?

‘I have always spoken positively about RB so I don’t understand the uproar.

‘For me everything is good and I am fully motivated and focused and I want to have an even better season than the last with RB.’
