Anthony Martial appears to have ruled out the prospect of leaving Manchester United this summer judging by his latest Instagram post.

The France international forward struggled to nail down a regular first team spot under Jose Mourinho last season and has been linked with a move away during the current transfer window.

United rejected approaches from both Tottenham and Inter last week, with Mourinho at pains on Friday to point out he maintained total faith in the former Monaco star.

Martial was an unused substitute in his side’s European Super Cup defeat against Real Madrid earlier this month and has started both Premier League matches of the new campaign on the bench.

The 21-year-old put pressure on his manager with a goal against West Ham last weekend and repeated the trick by icing the cake with a late goal in Saturday’s 4-0 demolition of Swansea.

Afterwards, Martial posted a picture on his Instagram account of him pointing to the Manchester United badge, appearing to address the rumours that have intensified over the summer.

Following his goalscoring contribution against Swansea, Mourinho was again keen to highlight Martial’s abundant potential.

He said: ‘Happiness in our play. It happened to me so much with my teams, you winning 1-0 and you can can concede. There was no need to close the door, just let the horses run freely.

‘Anthony Martial is working hard. He is confident. The French language connection is there to help him a lot and get to the level we know he can be because the potential is huge.’
